Cleanse and prime the natural lashes and tape the eye.

Orange looked vivid in the box and muddy on the client - what happened?

Warm pigments are the most light-dependent of the accent colours; under warm salon light they glow, and under cool daylight or overcast conditions they can flatten toward brown. Always preview against the client's own lashes in daylight before committing to a pattern.

How does orange compare with red as an accent?

Orange reads warmer and softer and blends better into brown and auburn natural colouring, while red is a harder contrast that reads more deliberately as a statement. On clients wanting "noticeable but not costume", orange is usually the safer recommendation.

Can I combine orange with brown fans for an autumn set?

Yes - a brown base with orange accents through the outer third is one of the most reliable seasonal designs, because the two tones share a warm family and read as gradient rather than as contrast. Keep the accent count modest so the gradient does not tip into a solid block.

How many accent fans is too many?

Once colour exceeds roughly a third of the visible top layer, the set stops reading as a black set with an accent and starts reading as a coloured set - which some clients want and many do not. Agree the intended effect before you start rather than adjusting as you go.

Do coloured fans need different aftercare advice?

The aftercare is the same, but be explicit that oil-based products and heavy makeup will dull the pigment's appearance faster than they dull black fibre. A client who cleanses properly keeps the colour looking fresh through the cycle; one who does not will report the colour "fading" when it is actually residue.
