Product details

  • Trend/Popularity: Light volume is what a large share of clients actually want when they ask for volume - a set that looks fuller and still looks like their own lashes - and 4D delivers that where 5D and above start reading as done.
  • Ease & Speed: Four fibres per fan means the artist can build a complete light volume set quickly, with fewer weight judgement calls per lash than higher densities require.
  • Income Opportunity: A light volume tier priced between classics and full volume captures clients who currently choose classics on price or caution, moving them up the menu without a difficult consultation conversation.
  • Artists building a light volume tier: A distinct step between classics and full volume that clients understand immediately.
  • Artists serving fine natural lashes: Four fibres is a manageable load where 5D and above would shed.
  • Hybrid specialists wanting more fan presence: More substantial than 3D while still balancing against classics.
  • Newer volume artists: Fewer fibres per fan means fewer things to go wrong while technique is still developing.

The specification behind light volume that still looks intentional.

  • 4D at 0.07mm - Enough fibres to read as a fan rather than a cluster, at a load fine lashes can carry.
  • Low-to-moderate fan weight - Widens the range of clients who can safely wear a volume-style set.
  • Tiny light-glue-bonded base - Keeps the attachment point narrow, which matters most on the fine lashes this density serves.
  • Three consecutive lengths, 250 fans each - Enough per size to map a full light-volume set from one box.
  • C, CC and D curls - Curl selection carries more visual weight at low density, since fewer fibres mean less blending.
  • Semi-glossed matte black finish - Keeps a light set looking deliberate rather than sparse under salon light.
  • 750 fans per box - Long box life relative to the number of fans a light set uses.
  1. Cleanse and prime the natural lashes, then tape and map the eye.
  2. Set expectations at consultation - this is light volume, not a dense set.
  3. Isolate a single natural lash and take the mapped length for the zone.
  4. Dispense a slightly larger glue dot than the small base implies, and dip only the base.
  5. Place the fan flat so all four fibres seat forward rather than side-on.
  6. Space placements closer than you would at higher densities - light fans need more of them for coverage.
  7. Keep curl consistent within each zone, since low density exposes any mismatch.
  8. Comb through, check for stickies, and cure fully.
  • Spacing as if it were a dense fan - light fans need more placements to reach coverage, and wide spacing leaves the set looking patchy. Place closer.
  • Selling it as full volume - the client expects density and gets refinement. Name the service accurately.
  • Sloppy curl matching - with four fibres there is nothing to hide a badly angled fan. Match curl carefully per zone.
  • Reducing the glue dot because the fan is light - the base is the same size regardless. Dose for the base, not the fibre count.
  • Reaching for length instead of density - clients wanting more from a 4D set are usually better served by a density step than by extra millimetres.

4D 0.07 VS. 5D 0.07

  • Coverage - 4D 0.07: Light volume, natural lash line visible | 5D 0.07: Full volume, gaps largely closed
  • Weight per fan - 4D 0.07: Lower | 5D 0.07: Moderate
  • Placements per set - 4D 0.07: More needed for coverage | 5D 0.07: Fewer needed
  • Natural lash suitability - 4D 0.07: Fine to average lashes | 5D 0.07: Average to strong lashes
  • Client expectation - 4D 0.07: Fuller but still natural | 5D 0.07: Visibly a volume set
  • Menu position - 4D 0.07: Light volume or premium hybrid | 5D 0.07: Standard volume service

Materials: PBT pro-silk fibre with a light cosmetic bonding agent at the base. Vegan, latex-free and cruelty-free. Patch test new clients for adhesive sensitivity.

Is 4D worth stocking when I already have 3D and 5D?

If you regularly serve fine natural lashes, yes - 4D is often the highest density those clients can wear, and it looks like a volume set where 3D reads as hybrid. If your clientele is mostly robust lash lines, you can skip it and map with 3D and 5D.

Why does my 4D set look patchy in photos?

Almost always spacing: light fans do not fill the gaps between placements the way denser fans do, so the same rhythm that works at 5D leaves visible bare lash line. Place more fans, closer together, rather than moving to a longer length.

Can I mix 4D and 5D in a single set?

Yes, and on an uneven lash line it is the better approach - 5D on the strong central lashes and 4D on the finer inner and outer ones. Keep length and curl consistent so the density difference reads as a natural taper rather than as two different sets.

A client wants more drama from her 4D set but her lashes are fine - what are my options?

Curl and map, primarily: a stronger curl and a more pronounced length contour will change the impact far more than adding fibres she cannot carry. If she needs more density, a finer diameter at a higher count is the only safe route to it.

Do lighter fans give better retention automatically?

They reduce the load, which helps, but retention still fails at the base - an under-glued 4D fan sheds just as readily as an under-glued 8D one. Lighter fans are more forgiving of a marginal natural lash, not of marginal technique.
