Is this UV light suitable for sensitive clients?

Always complete a client consultation and sensitivity assessment before the service. For light-sensitive clients, use proper UV-blocking eye protection, the lowest effective intensity, and minimize unnecessary UV exposure while still meeting the adhesive's curing requirements. Certain medications and medical conditions can increase UV sensitivity.

Is the UV beam safe for the eyes?

UV light should never be directed into unprotected eyes. Clients should keep their eyes completely closed and wear appropriate UV-blocking eye protection throughout the service. UV exposure can affect the eyes, so correct protection and controlled exposure are essential.

Can anyone get UV lash extensions?

Not everyone is an ideal candidate. Clients with known photosensitivity or who take medications that increase sensitivity to UV light should consult an appropriate healthcare professional before receiving a UV lash service.

What UV glue is compatible with the MasterSET Beam?

Curacoro UV InstaSet adhesives are designed for professional UV curing systems. For other brands, confirm with the adhesive manufacturer that the formula is compatible with the MasterSET Beam's 395–400nm wavelength before use.

When should I use a narrow beam instead of a wider beam?

Use a narrow beam for precise curing of individual lash bonds or small areas. A wider beam can provide broader coverage and may be useful when checking a completed section, but avoid unnecessary exposure around the eye.

How does UV lash glue differ from traditional lash glue?

Traditional lash adhesive cures through moisture in the surrounding air, so humidity and temperature can affect curing speed. UV adhesive contains a light-activated component that allows the technician to cure the bond when the UV light is applied. 

Does UV glue need to be shaken?

Always follow the instructions for the specific adhesive you are using. Clear UV adhesives generally do not require shaking to mix pigment, while black formulas may have different preparation requirements depending on their formulation.

Do I still need to worry about adhesive allergies?

Yes. UV curing can reduce the amount of time uncured adhesive remains exposed, but UV adhesives can still contain cyanoacrylates, so clients with a true adhesive allergy may still react. 

Retention & Aftercare

Can clients get their lashes wet right away?

With a properly cured UV adhesive system, the usual long waiting period before water exposure may not be necessary because the adhesive is cured during application. Still follow the specific aftercare instructions provided for the UV adhesive being used.

Do UV lash extensions last longer?

UV curing can provide more consistent bonding and retention because curing is controlled by light rather than relying primarily on changing room conditions. Actual retention still depends on preparation, attachment, natural lash growth, client aftercare, and adhesive technique.

How are grown-out UV lash extensions removed?

They can be removed similarly to traditional lash extensions using a professional cream or gel adhesive remover and proper isolation technique. Never pull or peel extensions from the natural lashes, as this can damage the natural lash.
