How do I decide between 6D 0.05 and 6D 0.07 at the chair?

Look at the natural lash diameter under magnification and how much it flexes when you rest a fan against it. Flexing lashes get 0.05; lashes that hold firm can take 0.07 and will look more defined for it.

Can I use both diameters in one set?

Yes, and it is a sensible approach on uneven lash lines - 0.07 on the strong central lashes for definition, 0.05 on the finer inner and outer lashes. Keep the D count and curl consistent so the only variable is weight, not shape.

My 0.05 fans clump where my 0.07 fans do not - same technique, different result. Why?

Finer fibre wicks adhesive more readily, so an identical dip depth delivers proportionally more glue into the fan. Reduce the dip and refresh the glue dot more often when you switch to the finer diameter.

Should the upgrade from 5D to 6D come with a price increase?

Only if the appointment genuinely takes longer or the set requires more maintenance, which at this step it usually does not. Many studios use 6D as the standard set and reserve price increases for the jump into mega-volume, where chair time and infill frequency both change.
