RETENTION TIPS FOR EVERYDAY SETS

Most retention problems on high-turnover sets come from the same handful of causes, and all are controllable at the chair.

• Take every lash from the base of the strip; a kinked base is the most common cause of lifting and it happens before the adhesive is involved.
• Align the extension base along the natural lash rather than at an angle - misaligned bases shear off within days regardless of adhesive quality.
• Keep the glue dot fresh; a thickening dot bonds poorly and leaves a visible bead.
• Cleanse and prime thoroughly, since residual oil is the leading cause of early set failure.
• Instruct clients to cleanse daily with a lash-safe foam and avoid oil-based eye products entirely.

Is 0.06 a genuine specification or just a marketing gap-filler?

It is a real working difference - noticeably softer than 0.07 and more substantial than 0.05 - and in practice it lets one tray serve clients you would otherwise split across two. Whether it earns a place in your kit depends on how mixed your clientele is.

Can I build volume fans from 0.06?

At low counts, yes - 2D to 4D fans work comfortably. Above that the weight becomes limiting and a finer diameter is the better route to density, since pushing fan counts at 0.06 adds load without adding much visual coverage.

Why does a mixed 7-15mm tray suit an everyday workflow?

Because most maps live within that span, so a single tray completes a set without switching. The trade-off is that your most-used lengths deplete first, which is why many artists keep single-length trays alongside for topping up.

My clients say sets feel lighter with this than my previous tray - is that the diameter?

Likely yes, if you moved down from 0.07 or higher; the weight difference per lash is small but it accumulates across a full set and clients notice it as comfort. It is one of the more common reasons artists settle at this diameter.

Does a lower price point mean lower fibre quality?

Not in this case - the fibre specification, strip design and finish are the same as the rest of the Velvet line. The economy is in the tray being a high-turnover everyday item rather than a specialist one, which is what makes the per-set cost work.
