When do I actually reach for M or L curl instead of D?

L is for lashes that grow downward or sit under a heavy hood - it travels outward before lifting, so the fan clears the lid instead of disappearing into it. M sits between L and C in lift and suits lashes that are flat but not downward-pointing; on those, a D curl tends to poke forward rather than open the eye.

Is DD ever the right choice at 0.07?

On very straight natural lashes where D still fails to produce visible lift, yes - but the combination of a strong curl and a thick fibre concentrates a lot of leverage at the base, so keep the length conservative when you use it. On lashes with any natural lift, DD reduces the visible lash line rather than increasing it.

Why do my 0.07 fans look defined in the tray and flat on the lash?

They are closing on placement, usually because the base is seated nose-first rather than laid flat along the natural lash. Approach along the lash rather than into it, and check the fan is still open before you release.

How does 5D 0.07 compare with a 0.15 classic in terms of what the lash carries?

Broadly comparable for healthy lashes, which is why the transition from classics to this specification is usually well tolerated. The difference the client will feel is in the aftercare requirement, not the weight.

My 6mm fans keep shedding - is that a product problem?

Almost never; short fans go on the innermost natural lashes, which are the finest and shortest in the line and the hardest to isolate cleanly. Check your isolation there specifically, and confirm the fan base is fully seated on a lash rather than partially bridging two.
